KYOTOplus Campaign – “Commit the Candidates” to strong action on climate change
Over 35 environmental organizations are calling on groups in all regions to get involved in the KYOTOplus federal election campaign. Every candidate in every riding is being asked to sign the “KYOTOplus Pledge for Canadian Politicians.” The pledge commits signatories to work for UN-recommended, science-based targets at the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen in December, 2009, and to a credible national policy to achieve them. Please help to collect signatures in your area and to publicize the results in your regional and local media. You can download the pledge at www.kyotoplus.ca or click here to read the full action alert.
The Canadian Environmental Network (RCEN) facilitates networking and communication between more than 600 ENGO’s, concerned citizens and government departments working to Protect the Earth and Promote Ecologically Sound Ways of Life. To make a submission for the next edition of the e-bulletin, to subscribe or to share your feedback, please send an email to bulletin@cen-rce.org. Submissions should be written in English and French, be issue-specific*, include contact information or a relevant website address, and have a body content less than 100 words in length. The deadline for sending your submissions is Mondays at 11:00am.
