Manitoba fieldSierra Youth Coalition – 2010 Youth Action Gatherings

The Sierra Youth Coalition’s Youth Action Gatherings (YAGs) are five-day camps for youth between the ages of 14-19. At this inclusive event, participants get to explore different venues for community leadership and how to take action on social/environmental injustices. While discovering their role within the scope of activism, there are also opportunities for fun through interactive workshops like yoga, sprouting, vegan cooking, and lively discussions on topics such as greenwashing and anti-oppression. There are three YAGs happening this summer: Ottawa (July-12-16), Halifax (August 9-12), and Victoria (August 31-Sept. 5). For more information, please visit http://www.syc-cjs.org/.
