Canadian Environmental Network - Executive Director
The RCEN is currently seeking an Executive Director to work from our National Office in Ottawa. As Executive Director, you are highly motivated and focused on achieving the strategic goals of the organization. You oversee the implementation of these goals, including work plans and policies, and ensure ongoing evaluation and follow-up. The Executive Director will ensure that a fundraising plan is developed and implemented to enhance the RCEN’s long-term sustainability. You are a team player who directs, supervises and encourages the national staff in carrying out their assigned responsibilities with passion and respect. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree with 5 years of not-for-profit/ society management experience; be fluent in both French and English; and possess strong organizational and time management skills. Greenpeace Canada – Forest Campaigner
Greenpeace Canada is seeking an experienced campaigner to work on its Boreal Forest campaign. The goals of the campaign are to increase permanent protection of the Boreal forest and to shift destructive forestry towards more sustainable logging practices. This will be accomplished, in part, through shifting the marketplace towards the purchase of pulp, paper and lumber from sustainable sources, lobbying provincial and federal governments, and engagement of media and the public. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years’ campaign experience, and a proven record on developing and implementing successful campaign strategies. This position is based in Toronto. Nova Scotia Environmental Network - Sustainability Education Coordinator
The Nova Scotia Environmental Network is seeking to hire a Sustainability Education Coordinator on a part-time, short-term basis from January to April. The position will be 96 hours in total. The Coordinator will help manage the SENSE (Sustainability Education in Nova Scotia for Everyone) working group of the NSEN. The Coordinator will help to organize the upcoming sustainability conference, look for SENSE funding and assembly SENSE information material. The Coordinator must be able to work a few hours a week in the NSEN office in Halifax. Candidates must have excellent event planning, computing and communication skills.
