ENGO Hosts for Rio +20 Earth Summit Civil Society Consultation Workshops
The RCEN has been invited by Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) and Stakeholder Forum for a Sustainable Future (SF) to select 10 ENGO leads representing the different regions of Canada to host and facilitate civil society consultation workshops in preparation for Rio +20 Earth Summit (UNCSD) 2012. The workshop consultations will be based on 5 think pieces being prepared by SF related to the Rio +20 major themes and thought leadership for sustainable development governance. The recommendations from all workshops will be compiled into a final outcomes document for release and submission to DFAIT. The application deadline is February 21, 2011. More information
The Canadian Environmental Network (RCEN) facilitates networking and communication between more than 600 ENGOs, concerned citizens and government departments working to Protect the Earth and Promote Ecologically Sound Ways of Life. Submissions should be written in English and French, be issue-specific*, include contact information or a relevant website address, and have a body content less than 100 words in length. The deadline for sending your submissions is Mondays at 11:00am.
