Action Alert:

Kyoto Protocol

Last week the World Federalist Movement - Canada circulated an Action Alert on the Kyoto Protocol. The alert went to WFC-M members and the action is a letter to Paul Martin, Stephane Dion and John Efford with the suggested main points:

Congratulate the Government for their part in supporting the Kyoto Protocol.

Share your concerns about the potential upheavals caused by climate change.

Call upon Canadian Government to mark February 16th by announcing a full package of initiatives to comply with the Kyoto Protocol by 2012, including:

o Clear targets and timelines
o Emphasis on regulation and incentives rather than voluntary measures
o Mandatory targets for large industry in keeping with their 50% share of emissions.

Pledge your personal commitment to energy conservation.
