Contact your MP to Vote No to Bill C-27

Canada risks losing its ability to adopt independent testing and the inspection capacity it needs to protect the health and safety of Canadians if Bill C-27, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency Act, is passed.

Canadians opposed to Bill C-27 can send a letter of concern to their MP from the Beyond Factory Farming Coalition web site.

Selection ENGO representative for the fifth session of the United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF5)

Boris Romaguer from Sierra Club of Canada was selected as the ENGO representative to be part of the official Canadien Delegation for the UNFF5, to be held in New York, New York, from May 16 to 27, 2005. As part of the Contaminated Sites Programme, Health Canada has launched its Contaminated Sites web site to facilitate easy access to contract reports, publications and scientific contribution.

"Securing the Future" Conference in Skellefteå, Sweden, June 28–30.

"Securing the Future" Conference will take place in Skellefteå, Sweden from June 28–30. The conference will comprise two days of presentations on mining and environment protection topics and one day covering metals and energy recovery. The programme further comprises a range of presentations from Sudbury.

Inter Pares, an international social justice organization based in Ottawa, is organizing a public forum entitled "Citizen Action - Challenging the Limits: Towards a New Internationalism" on May 1st, 2005 from 7-9pm at the West End Cultural Centre, 586 Ellice Avenue (at Sherbrook) in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The forum will be addressed by Ms. Khushi Kabir, a prominent anti-poverty activist from Bangladesh who works with the country's poorest people.
