Calls For Delegates

 
i.

Nanomaterials Regulatory Framework Multi-Stakeholder Workshop

 

The RCEN is seeking two ENGO delegates to participate in a multi-stakeholder workshop on the Proposed Regulatory Framework for Nanomaterials under CEPA.  The ENGO delegates will attend the one-day workshop in Toronto on September 27, 2007 and will be invited to provide additional written comments on the framework following the workshop.

Health Canada/Environment Canada will cover the selected delegate’s costs related to travel, accommodations, meals and incidentals, as per Treasury Board Guidelines. A per diem for the selected delegates to attend the workshop and for one day of preparation prior to the workshop will also be covered.

The deadline to apply is Monday, September 17, 2007. If you are interested in participating, visit the RCEN website.

The Ottawa Group of the Sierra Club of Canada is seeking nominees for its Board of Directors

 

Would you like to directly influence progress on protecting the environment? The Ottawa Group of the Sierra Club of Canada is currently seeking nominees for its Board of Directors. The Sierra Club is a volunteer environmental advocacy group committed to preserving the environment and promoting environmental sustainability at the level of municipal government and among individual citizens. Campaigns to date include municipal election report cards, preservation of the Leitrim Wetlands, waste reduction, and school workshops.  

To answer this challenge, please contact Terry Newcombe before September 15, 2007.

Learning for Sustainability has revised and updated its Website

 

The Learning for Sustainability website - http://learningforsustainability.net - has been substantially revised and updated over the past few months. This site focuses on sustainability issues such as natural resource management, and provides an on-line guide for government agency staff, NGOs and other community leaders working to support multi-stakeholder learning processes. The site also provides links to key information sources on many social process strands that support a learning society. Have a look for yourself by visiting the new and improved site here.

 Falls Brook Centre is seeking a mature and highly motivated person for a full-time Community Development Manager position in Carleton County, New Brunswick. Applicants should have an interest in dedicating their life’s work to help rural citizens rise up and take control of their future and the future of NB forests, as well as having special skills in biodiversity restoration, community development and encouragement. Knowledge of Spanish, overseas project experience and a background in forestry or biology are highly preferable.
