UN Agricultural Assessment

Next January, governments around the world will meet in Nairobi, Kenya to discuss the future of agriculture. This is a unique opportunity to influence the direction of global agriculture for the coming generation. According to Greenpeace, governments will either “promote a failed, unsustainable model of industrial agriculture backed with toxic pesticides and uncontrolled genetically engineered crops, or support organic and sustainable farming practices.”

Jointly sponsored by the UN and the World Bank, the draft report of International Assessment of Agricultural Science and Technology for Development is now accepting comments until October 22nd. Greenpeace is asking you to take a moment to send a letter to iaastdreview@worldbank.org and Cc a copy to josh.brandon@greenpeace.org.
