4. Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment (CCME) CCME Acid Rain Task Group
The National Air Issues Coordinating Committee - Other Air Issues (NAICC-A) of the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment (CCME) has establishing a multi-stakeholder/federal-provincial-territorial Acid Rain Task Group. The Task Group co-ordinates implementation of the Canada-Wide Acid Rain Strategy. The Task Group holds regular conference calls throughout the year, with one face-to-face meeting per year.
5. Clean Air Act The RCEN selected 2 ENGO delegates to co-chair a post-consultation conference call on the Clean Air Act, and to communicate the information with other ENGOs. The meeting took place on November 23, 2006, in Ottawa, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm ET.
According to excerpts from Environment Canada’s website: Canada’s Clean Air Act will allow the government to: “Move industry from voluntary compliance to strict enforcement; Replace the current ad hoc, patchwork system with clear, consistent, and comprehensive national standards; and Institute a holistic approach that doesn’t treat the related issues of pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions in isolation .”

Transportation and Emissions
- Downloadable transportation and emissions guidebook, from the Center for Clean Air Policy in the United States. This on line guidebook allows the user to input information (i.e. pollution control technology) to see what impact it will have on air quality.
- AIR Control Net,a free CD available from frank.divita@pechan.com or downloadable from the website. This program enables the user to input information on emissions reductions to see what ambient levels would be achieved, on ambient levels you would like to achieve to see what is the most cost effective method of achieving those levels, etc.
