IMPORTANT – WE NEED YOUR INPUT:
INCOME DISPARITY AND ALTERNATIVE/COMPLEMENTARY MEDICINE SURVEY

To whom it may concern:

I am a volunteer for the Health Caucus of the Canadian Environmental Network. Currently, we are randomly surveying a few alternative/complementary practitioners in the four Atlantic provinces to get their view on: what wellness is, differences between alternative and complementary therapy, and how obtainable alternative medicine is to lower income people.

We hope that asking specific questions will determine the gaps and current best practices in these fields, shedding light for both you and ourselves at the same time. In the future we would like to work with you to form plans of action based on the survey results. The Health Caucus is a national networking body for non-governmental organizations, linking health to environmental issues. We do not take positions on any one issue but do provide a forum for the member groups to share resources, campaign, educate and build capacity at a national level. The working group conducting this survey is called the Income Disparity and Health Working Group of the Health Caucus and we would welcome your participation if you decided to join us.

I would greatly appreciate your individual input in filling out the attached survey. The survey should only take approximately 15-20 minutes. Responses from New Brunswick and Nova Scotia practitioners are especially needed at this point.

If you choose to return the survey by electronic mail, please use my email address: aferncase@yahoo.ca. If you prefer to return it by mail, please address it to Anne Ferncase, 11 Long St., St. John's, NL A1C 4B1

I am available to call you for a phone interview as well.

When all surveys are in (2-4 per Atlantic province), our CEN Health Caucus working group will compile the responses and post our conclusions on the CEN website. There is a place at the end of the survey to indicate if you would like a personal copy of the conclusions.

Thank you for your time.
