Canadian Standards Board Management Committee
The Canadian
General Standards Board (CGSB) has an opening for an ENGO
representative to sit on its Management Committee. The Committee
shall be drawn from the private and public sectors and each member
must possess specific industry expertise and/or expertise relevant
to quality and environmental management system work. The ideal
candidate has a good background in environmental issues, an open
attitude, represents a major, national ENGO and has no conflict
of interest. Some knowledge of ISO 14001 would be an asset. The
successful candidate must sign a confidentiality agreement.
The delegate is expected to hold the position for several years.
The work requires about eight hours of preparation for an annual
management committee meeting, which usually lasts about six hours.
Typically it is held in May.
Membership on the Committee shall be voluntary without remuneration.
Members shall be reimbursed for expenses incurred in attending
Committee meetings or performing other services at the request
or on behalf of CGSB. Travel and accommodation expenses are covered.
