Meetings in preparation for the Seventh Ordinary Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP-7)

The CEN has been invited to oversee the Selection of one ENGO representative to be part of the Official Canadian Delegation each of the following two meetings:

Second meeting of the Ad Hoc Open-ended Working Group on Access and Benefit-Sharing

1 - 5 December 2003 - Montreal, Canada
The deadline to apply is: November 24th, 2003

The Canadian Environmental Network's Forest Caucus selected Marie-Claire Cordonier Segger, director of the Centre for International Sustainable Development Law to be the ENGO representative in the Official Canadian Delegation at the Second meeting of the Ad Hoc Open-ended Working Group on Access and Benefit-Sharing to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (UNCBD). She will write a report following the meeting, which will be posted on the Forest Caucus' webpage.

Third meeting on the Ad Hoc Open-ended Inter-sessional Working Group on Article 8(j) and Related Provisions of the Convention on Biological Diversity

8 - 12 December 2003 - Montreal, Canada

To discuss issues related to knowledge, innovations and practices of Indigenous and local communities
The deadline to apply is: November 27th, 2003

The Forest Caucus further selected Boris Romaguer from Ambioterra to be the ENGO representative on the Official Canadian Delegation at the Third meeting on the Ad Hoc Open-ended Inter-sessional Working Group on Article 8(j) and Related Provisions of the Convention on Biological Diversity (Montreal Dec. 8-12, 2003).
