COP 9 Convention on Climate Change, Milan

The Ninth Conference of the Parties (COP 9) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change will be held in Milan, Italy, December 1-12, 2003. COP 9 will largely be a technical meeting, where the work to translate into legal language the political agreements reached in the Bonn Agreement and the Marrakesh Accords is likely to be finalized.

The Canadian delegation will be lead by Bill Graham, Minister of Foreign Affairs. An invitation has been extended to the CEN by David Anderson, Minister of Environment, to secure the participation of two ENGOs. Travel and accommodation costs will be covered.

The delegates selected to attend this conference are Meinhard Doelle of the Clean Nova Scotia Foundation and Brent Kopperson of Windfall Eco-Works.
