Consultation in Progress
Second National Forum on the Boreal Standard
Organized by The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Canada
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Canada is organizing a second
national forum on the Boreal Standard that will take place in
Winnipeg December 3-6, 2003. This forum aims to collectively
review and understand the public feedback and support for Version
2.1 of the FSC Canada National Boreal Standard, to identify and
prioritize any remaining issues for reconciliation, to reconcile
issues by consensus of the Board with the support of the regional
and sectoral representatives, to develop and approve the implementation
and communications plans for the application of the Boreal Standard.
CEN has been asked to seek one ENGO representative for this
Forum. The ENGO representative should have relevant expertise
as well as experience in developing or implementing forest certification
standards, have experience in matters related to FSC standards,
and be prepared to indicate support for FSC and its Principles
and Criteria. He or she must commit to attend full day meetings
at least from the 3rd to the 5th of December. Travel, accommodation
and meals are covered for the ENGO delegate.
The CEN Forest Caucus has selected Chris
Henschel from CPAWS-WILDLANDS LEAGUE as the ENGO representative
for the Second National Forum on Boreal Standard. His
report is now available.
