Canada-Wide Standards for Particulate Matter and Ozone (CWS PM & Ozone)

Under the auspices of the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment (CCME), the development of Canada-wide standards for several key pollutants occurs. Canada Wide Standards for PM and ground level ozone are scheduled for phase-in over the coming decade.

Implementation schedules and actions for 2003-04 are described in the Joint Action and Implemention Coordinating Committee (JAICC) Workplan. CEN member orgs advise the JAICC via the JAIC-CAG (the Core Advisory Group)

On-going sharing of scientific understanding of the issue takes place at the annual Science Stakeholder meeting which was attended by several CEN member ENGOs.
