Off-Road Small Spark-Ignition Emission Regulations

Proposed regulations for Off-Road Small Spark-Ignition Emissions were published in the Canada Gazette Part 1 on March 29, 2003, initiating a 60-day public consultation period. The proposed regulations are intended to establish emission standards for small spark-ignition engines rated up to 19 kW (25 hp) under the regulatory framework of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999.

The proposed regulations represent the first-ever emission regulations for a category of off-road engines under CEPA 1999 and are an element of the Federal Agenda on Cleaner Vehicles, Engines and Fuels.

Please send your comments to Environment Canada before the 60-day public comment period ends on May 27, 2003.
