Call for Participation

RCEN Committees are Seeking New Members!

This fall, the RCEN invites current members to join one or more of its committees! Committees are a vital component of the Network and ensure that individual members’ energy and ideas are part of the our projects and activities.

The following committees are currently seeking new members:

2010 AGA Planning Committee
We are currently looking for volunteers to join the Planning Committee for the next RCEN Annual General Assembly. The AGA will take place in Montreal in the summer or fall of 2010. Members of the Committee will participate in monthly conference calls, provide guidance and suggest ideas to make the event a success!

Aboriginal Committee
The Aboriginal Committee focuses on increasing the participation of other indigenous people and groups in the Network. The Committee also ensures that the RCEN respects and promotes aboriginal culture, values and environmental views in its activities.

Awards Committee
This brand new committee was created to recognize RCEN members’ contributions to the Network and the environmental movement as a whole. From choosing who to honour, to the types of awards to be given, members of this Committee ensure that key individuals are properly honoured at the Annual General Assembly.

Policy and By-laws Committee
Members of the Policy and By-laws Committee work on RCEN policy recommendations, by-law amendments and generally ensure that the Network’s policies are relevant and up-to-date. Currently, the P&B Committee is working on a by-law component for membership criteria, the National Caucus Policy Manual and a review of the Governance Policy Manual.

This is a great opportunity to get involved and to stay in touch with other members from across Canada!

Please contact Joséphine Hénault at 613-728-9810, ext. 221; josephine@cen-rce.org to join one or more of these committees.
