The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency is working in collaboration with Business Development Bank of Canada and Farm Credit Canada to develop a regulation assisting them in complying with the obligations of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act as of June 11, 2006. In April 2005, the Agency invited members of the RCEN to comment on a framework document outlining the regulatory proposal.
The proposed Crown Corporations Involved in the Provision of Commercial Loans Environmental Assessment Regulations have now been published in the Canada Gazette, Part I on December 31, 2005. Comments received no later than January 30, 2006 will be taken into account before the amendments are finalized and the regulations come into force on June 11, 2006.
