ENGO Representative selection
The CEN Mining Caucus selected Mitch Anderson from the Sierra
Legal Defence Fund to be the ENGO representative that will give
the 5 minutes presentation on national orphaned/abandoned mines
related issues at the Mines Ministers Conference (MMC) in Halifax
on the morning of September 29th, 2003. He will also be able to
participate as an observer for the rest of the morning meetings.
Sierra Legal has been active on mining issues for many years.
His presentation will be on the lessons learned from the Britannia
mine issue and how this relates to the current direction that
federal and provincial mines policy is going. Mitch will write
a short report to be posted on CEN website following his participation.
