The Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999
(CEPA) is Canada's principal federal environmental protection
legislation. CEPA provides for a Parliamentary review of its provisions
and implementation. Environment Canada and Health Canada lead
the Review of CEPA and hosted 6 public workshops to both inform
Canadians about the Review and to obtain public input.
The RCEN Coordinated the public participation
of environmental, health and aboriginal groups at these workshops.
