Call for Delegates
ENGO-DFO National Fish Habitat Coordinating Committee
When: 2008-09 (with possibility of renewal in next fiscal year)
Where: monthly teleconferences and two face-to-face meetings per year (location and dates TBC)

The Canadian Environmental Network (RCEN) is looking for a new ENGO delegate to join the ENGO-DFO National Fish Habitat Coordinating Committee (NFHCC).
Since November 2006, 4 RCEN ENGO delegates have participated on the NFHCC, along with representatives from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO). The purpose of the NFHCC is to plan, organize and coordinate cooperative activities between ENGOs and DFO in support of fish habitat management in Canada.

General Information
The NFHCC meets monthly by teleconference and twice a year in person. ENGO members of the NFHCC are reimbursed for travel and living expenses related to all face-to-face meetings.

Selection Criteria
- Active involvement in protecting, enhancing and/or restoring fish habitat
- Good knowledge of habitat issues related to the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for Habitat Management, the Environmental Process Modernization Plan (EPMP), the Fisheries Act, and the Canadian Environment Assessment Act (CEAA)
- Experience and proven ability to work professionally, constructively and collaboratively in a multi-stakeholder setting;
- Ability to bring a national and strategic perspective to the Table;
- Senior representative of an ENGO focusing on fish habitat management - ability to represent constituent community;
- RCEN member in good standing; and
- Commitment to the process.
Delegate expectations
- Participate in monthly teleconferences with the Coordinating Committee;
- Participate in additional ENGO teleconferences as needed;
- Attend two face-to-face Coordinating Committee meetings per year;
- Review preparatory materials and reports, and respond to email communications between meetings;
- Gather input from, and report back to the RCEN membership on the work of the Coordinating Committee
