Goodbye Jannis Klein

Dear Members,

It is with great sadness that I inform you that Jannis Klein, RCEN Environmental Planning and Assessment (EPA) Caucus Coordinator, passed away last December 22nd. I attended her Shiva and brought flowers on behalf of the RCEN. She died peacefully at home, surrounded by her family. Jannis was diagnosed with cancer for the second time 3 years ago. Even during the hardest times she was determined to continue working with us and she did so until the end, insisting to attend a Caucus meeting in BC in October. Her courage, strength and dedication inspired us all.

She was an outstanding person. The RCEN is losing an amazing colleague and a wonderful friend. I would like to thank the RCEN staff and EPA caucus members for their support and understanding throughout those years as it meant a lot to her. I hope that 2008 will keep you healthy, loved and fulfilled.

Chantal Bois
Associate Executive Director

Jannis' obituary can be read online here. There is also a guestbook for those who would like to write a message to her family.
