National Caucus Coordinator
Annual Salary: $44,737.20
Status: Temporary, full-time (13 months maternity leave replacement)
Location: Ottawa, Ontario
Start date: November 2010

The National Caucus Coordinator, reporting to the Executive Director (ED), is responsible for facilitating and promoting the work of the RCEN's standing Caucuses, coordinating delegate selections, negotiating and implementing Caucus and consultation contracts and contribution agreements, and ensuring an effective role for the RCEN in consultative processes between the federal government and environmental groups.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the activities of Caucus Committees and support the implementation of Caucus workplans; such as:
- Manage the Caucus budgets
- Develop funding proposals
- Organize meetings and teleconferences
- Oversee general caucus communications
- Distribute calls for delegates, oversee delegate selection processes, and coordinate members’ participation in national consultations;
- Work in collaboration with other RCEN Caucus Coordinators.
Qualifications:
- University Diploma in a related field;
- Excellent writing and verbal skills in both English and French;
- Relevant experience in coordination and project administration in the non-profit sector;
- Experience in governmental relations and excellent knowledge of federal departments related to environmental issues;
- Experience with fundraising and contract negotiation;
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage time and multiple projects;
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications;
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment and independently in a small, dynamic organization often under pressure;
- Strong affinity with the organization’s mission and activities.
