RCEN 2007 Annual General Assembly and 30th Anniversary Celebration
Thank You: Michael Simpson – Secretary, Board of Directors, 2004-2007
Mike brought a wealth of experience to his director role on the Board of Directors, from years spent working for an ENGO and under multi-year CIDA contracts to project management at the international level, as well as having been a videographer/film producer. His keen perception and practical approach to problem-solving have been very valuable to board discussions and decision-making.
The current board project to produce an updated and comprehensive governance policy manual is in response to suggestions he made to improve transparency and accountability. He was also an enthusiastic participant and supporter of the board's strategic planning exercise several years ago, a plan which today provides a clear focus and direction for the board and staff of the RCEN. We are fortunate to have Mike's continuing involvement in the RCEN through the International Caucus.
