RCEN Co-Sponsors Board Training Session for Atlantic Networks On February 19th, 2009, the RCEN co-sponsored a Board Training Session with the PEI Eco-Net, in Charlottetown. Directors and executive staff from our Affiliate Networks in the Maritimes were invited to come and learn about important topics such as: Board duties and responsibilities, good governance and Board recruitment. Participants also shared their personal experiences about being volunteer Board members. Although this was a pilot project of sorts, the experience was positive and this format will be used as a template for further training with Affiliate Board members across Canada. The session was facilitated by Lobie Daughton, Health Caucus representative on the RCEN National Council.
