Hexavalent Chromium
Proposed Regulation for Chromic Acid used in Metal Finishing
Industry - EC seeks ENGO input
Under the Strategic Options Process (SOP) for developing
emissions standards for the use of Hexavalent chromium in
the metal finishing industry, Environment Canada has developed
a proposed regulation respecting chromic acid used in chromium
electroplating or chromium anodizing.
Environment Canada wishes to provide an information session
to appropriate CEN members, covering the background development
and history of the regulation, providing a review of the
performance requirements of this regulation and responding
to any questions as needed. Environment Canada is at this
time open to either a face-to-face meeting or a teleconference,
depending on the number of interested CEN members. In the
event of a face-to-face meeting, travel and accommodation
costs will be covered by EC.
Please indicate your interest in participating NO LATER
THAN NOVEMBER 6, 2002.
